Hazel will be reading her bare book to her class on May 8 at 12:30 PM. Storytime link is below

May the Fourth
Writing: This week we will be doing some poetry writing. Each day, your child will be introduced to a new style of poem and have the opportunity to write one of their own.

Math: This week we will be focusing on practice and reteaching of a math concept we covered while in class. I will be sending a separate math schedule to the students who need to work on the concept. If you don’t receive the email your child needs to just log in to iReady everyday. I have assigned some review lessons for them to work on.

Talent Show: With the unusual circumstances, we will be doing a virtual class talent show this year. If your son or daughter would like to be in this year’s talent show, here’s how it will work:

We would like you to send your student’s teacher a video of up to 2 minutes, of anything your son or daughter would like to share with us. Ideas could be jumping on the trampoline, cooking, art, exercising, playing an instrument, showing creations in the sand box, reading, riding a scooter, riding a bike, etc.
The 1st grade teachers will be compiling the videos together to make a movie for each class. When finished, the class talent show movies will have links at the top of our 1st grade website home page.
We will only be accepting student videos through next Monday,May 11th, so that we have time to put everything together.

Daily Read Aloud: If you haven’t had a chance and your student would like to, please sign up for a day to have you child share their bare book with us. The link to the signup: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cMqWTCcnJPnHCf1RARL21buXALX9vrLEFc4fZewkZro/edit?usp=sharing

However, if your child needs more time to illustrate their book we can share after that date, I will add more days if needed. We would love to have everyone share their books with us if possible.

This week we will be working on the oi/oy sound in words, learning about fractions (whole, half, and fourth), and learning about how things are built.

We will also continue working on illustrating our bare books if you haven’t finished. When you have finished your bare book please let me know so that we can set a day for you to share it during one of our daily read aloud.

Please remember to have your child log in and record themselves reading the assigned passage in Raz-Kids for me to check up on their reading.

Step 3: Your child finds his or her username on the class chart
Step 4: Your child enters his or her password

Miss Spadafora will read stories here at 12:30 starting Tuesday.

The district recommends that you spend 1-2 hours each day helping your kids learn with this online instruction. Please set a time each day that you will do this. We have set up daily lessons and assignments on our 1st grade website.  Here’s the link: https://sites.google.com/alpinedistrict.org/manila1st/home

March 30For math this week, students will be taking surveys and making graphs. This activities it to help them practice collecting data and then organizing and interpreting the data. There are daily videos that we made to demonstrate what we expect the students to do. Then on Friday the students need to take the online math test. The link to master connect and the test id code the need are listed on the Friday assignments.

There will also be a bossy r test that students need to take on mastery connect on Friday as well. Again the link and test id are listed on the Friday assignments. If it works better for you and your student, these two test (math and Bossy R) can be taken anytime during the week. We just ask that they be done no later than Friday.

There will be no required activities to log on to Winders for. I have posted some additional reading and activities on the Wonders site if you would like to use them. Instead of Wonders this week we decided to focus on some Science. This week students will be reading about some inventors and learning about push and pull (force). Then they will be inventing/creating something that moves with a push or a pull.

On the homepage of our 1st grade website you will also find links for additional resources. We encourage you to use these with your students.  Our specialty teachers will have a link in this section each week that will have an activity for your children to do. You will also find great sites for science, math, learning games, and stories

ONLY 9 MORE DAYS UNTIL THE ART FESTIVAL!

I am blown away by your talent everyday! Thank you to those people who have submitted art, videos, questions, and applied to be on the art panel. There were so many people who wanted to be a part of the artist panel that we had to create two. I feel so grateful to be a part of such a wildly creative school.

Today I wanted to give you a few more details about the art festival, and encourage you to be involved. Remember, you can still send in your creativity videos, and recreate a famous piece of art. If you have a minute go on and be inspired by what others have already created HERE. More info on those two things is below.

In addition to these two things I want to tell you about some art lessons that will be available on the day of the art festival. There will be two classes that you can take on the day of the festival. The first on is a bead making class. In this class you will learn how to make homemade beads and turn them into a necklace or bracelet. This class will be prerecorded and available to everyone on the day of the festival.

The second class is a guided drawing class. In this class I will guide you through drawing a picture. This class will be taught live through google meet at 11:00 on May 14. I would love for you all to join in the fun. Google meet can hold up to 250 people, so I think everyone who wants to join should be able to, but just in case I will record the lesson and post it after the class is done. A link for the class will be shared on the day of the art festival. I would love for you to suggest a few ideas on what we can draw HERE. I will announce what we are drawing next Monday.

Tell me what creativity means to you. Film yourself answering the question “What does creativity mean to me?” and send it to Miss Leavitt cleavitt@alpinedistrict.org by Friday, May 8.

Recreate a famous piece of art and share it for our art auction. Use what you have at home to recreate the art, and use your family as the people in the pictures. Here is an example of one that I did. I recreated “Girl With a Pearl Earring” by Johannes Vermeer. Once you have recreated your art and taken your picture you can post it to the padlet board HERE. Click on the plus sign on the lower right hand of the screen to add your picture. Please include your name(s) on your post. You may post the original artwork as well so we have a reference of how it should look. All art should be posted by May 14

I hope you find at least one way to get involved with the art festival during the next couple of weeks. I can’t wait to see what you create.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

And remember, we make messes, we make mistakes, but deep inside we got what it takes. We are artists!

On Monday, I would like to have a google meet with everyone so that they could show their maps of Utah County to each other. 10:00 Monday—show maps and ancestor reports if they are done to each other!

April 23
You will be using Dreambox for math today. Here’s your login:

Class: Black-Grade 4
Class code: 68652

April 20
Could you have your child draw out a map of Utah County along with the written report? Have them put in county seat, lakes and rivers, landmarks and color it to show me please. Due this Friday. It would be great if we could share them on a google meet on Friday also.

Also see the notes about a report on an ancestor below! That’s for this week!

2-4 hours per day. Your Google classroom will have a checklist each day for what you’re supposed to do.

Google Classroom >> Wonders for language arts, paragraph of the week, Go Math for math. Activities for science. Pending social studies. Mom needs to check writing assignments before you turn them in.

April 13
I will be doing a google meet at 11:00 every day to talk with the students and answer any questions that they may have.

Animal reports are due this Friday. Please read over your child’s report before they submit it to me to make sure he/she is not copying right out of a book. Thanks!

Next week I will assign a biography report on an ancestor. If it’s possible, could you please help your child find an ancestor that immigrated to America?
1..Where they were born?
2. Career or work?
3. Family life like?
4. Childhood was like
5. Siblings?
7. Ambitions or schooling?
8. Anything unique about your person?
9. A fact that is interesting about the life that was lived?

Please help your child think of a story problem to write on the back of the math paper.

Bare books will be in a box for you to come and pick up. A Book About Utah. is the title.

March 30

Also, I was wondering if they could start a reading journal and send in the pages to me on Friday.
They are used to this and have been doing it all year. After their morning reading, have them write down 2 details that they learned, 1 new vocabulary word and 1 question. Do this everyday, then take a picture and have them turn it in to me on Friday. It should only be 1 page for the whole week.

The math passwords are your child’s STUDENT ID number for both the login and the password.

March 19 Logging into Google Classroom

Wonders login: asd[Lexia#]
Wonders password: MyMath1

20 minutes of Reflex Math each day — we’d like to get you through all of reflex by the end of the school year

20 minutes of Lexia (at least 3 days/week) — we’d like to get you through level 16 by the end of the school year

20 minutes of personal reading per day. You can find more reading in Wonders (through Google Classroom) or SORA or lots of books in our house!!

Hello 6th graders and parents! May is here and the time to start thinking about the end of the year – which is nothing like what we had planned.

We will continue learning with reading, writing, social studies, and math assignments. We will no longer have math lessons, as we will be using Nearpods and i-Ready lessons to review measurement conversions – a concept covered in 5th grade. Students will be able to meet with me each day to ask questions. I will put a link on Google Classroom every day starting at 11, providing opportunities for students to pop in and ask questions about the assignments. I will continue to hold the STIs – Most students have signed up for a time, however, not all are checking in and these meetings are going on Skyward as part of their Learning Habits grade. Please set a timer/alarm to help remind them to check in – they will have the same time each week unless a time doesn’t work, they are welcome to go in and change it as long as they do not delete someone else’s name. This is a perfect time to get the extra help when concepts are not fully understood.

Reading assignments will begin to lessen as we begin working on Country Reports – students can pick a country of their choosing – however, The United States cannot be picked. A google form will be available on Classroom, so that I can see what country each student has chosen to research and create a Travel Brochure – info will be on classroom. Bare books should be a top priority, as we have a book share on classroom using Padlet – students will create a short 1-2 minute video showcasing the cover, summary (beginning, middle, and end), tell us why the topic was chosen, etc.

A link to Mrs. Castle’s 6th Grade Talent Show Padlet is also available on Classroom, where students can create another short video showcasing one of their many talents.

Also, Film Festival has been scheduled at the Water Gardens for May 16 at 9 am. To finalize the films, we would love to have a 10-15 second video of each student dressed for the red carpet to spotlight each student’s hard work in reading and creating the short film trailers.

Google Meet Scavenger Hunt was attended by 5 students last Friday and they asked if we could do it again. I have put together another 3 rounds with hopes we can get more to participate this Friday at 1:15.

Art Night has been scheduled for May 14 – Miss Leavitt sent out an email with details on how students can participate in that event.

While the end to our 6th grade year has not gone as planned, our students are going to be resilient learners and will gain much from this experience

Mrs. Mykin Castle

Our class website   https://sites.google.com/alpinedistrict.org/mrscastle/home will have a schedule so students have an idea what they can work on each day.

Virtual meet & greet for PG Jr ALL program: here, Wednesday May 6, 4-5PM. We will play a couple of getting-to-know-you games, give an overview of what to expect from the program, and answer any questions.

March 30 As the situation has evolved, we have learned some valuable lessons and are doing our best to adapt. Please see this video from our Administration https://youtu.be/8QSo8y0sC60

Below are some areas where we will be more systematic:

  • We will use a weekly, rather than daily perspective. Assignments for the week will be given on Monday and due the following Sunday.
  • We are doing our best to follow a standard of two hours per day of work for each student. This means about one hour of work per class per week. We realize some students will need more, some won’t need that much but we will work to find that “just right” amount of work.
  • Each Monday, teachers will ask for feedback to find out how much time was spent in their class the previous week and make any adjustments, if necessary.

If you log into canvas at alpineschools.org/canvas using your school email account, you can click on your class and click on your announcement for the week. I will plan on a new announcement each Monday that we are out of the building, with a video conference on Wednesdays for questions you may have still, and the week’s work will be due by Friday of that week.

You will see your class’s time for the video conference in the announcement in Canvas.

We will try some things with conferencing and collaborating that may not work right away. So we will problem solve together. We will work it out and don’t stress if you have troubles. Just send me an email and I can help you through this.

March 23
PE students great job on your week 1 project and fitness log. I need all the students who have not submitted the week1 assignment to take care of it. If you are having problems you can make a google doc and email it to me. I saw a couple students running on our track today, ask your mom to let you out of the house so you can start your track practice. All boys who go fishing get extra credit. I went fishing saturday and did not see one of you there . Feel free to email with any questions.

Science, Mrs. Bennett

I just wanted to get a head start and help you and your student remember how to log on to Canvas to see assignments. For Science, just select 8th Grade Integrated Science box. Once there, select the module that says DIGITAL DAYS! I put all our assignments in there just to keep it simple.

March 25 I am offering a video conference to go over test tonight at 7:00. This is optional and only if your student really needs a better score.
Using GOOGLE MEET we will be able to see each other and discuss questions. I will walk you through each question on the test like we do during Viking Time. (Be aware that this will be my first practice and probably your first practice so it may take a bit to get everyone on at first.). You also need a computer and or phone with a camera enabled in order to see.

Here is the schedule: A parent must be present so we will do evenings…

A Day students let meet at 7:00 tonight (3/25/20).

B Day students let meet at 7:00 tomorrow (3/26/20).

One more day just in case you can’t make those…Friday at 6:00 3/27/20

* use the same link for each

Spanish, el Sr. Anderson

Apr 17
This morning I changed all blanks to zeros for late assignments. As a result, there are almost as many students failing as those who have A’s. This coming week of April 20 – 24 I will go very light on assignments in order to give some of you time to catch up.

Many students are not following the instructions on the 20 sentence Green Sheet assignment. I admit, my first instructions were not as clear as they should have been. I am learning from this online process just like you are. If you have not done the Green Sheet 20 sentence assignment, or have a bad score on it, please, please, pretty please with a cherry on top, watch and pay close attention to the video I posted in the Canvas module for the week of Spring Break. It will make life so much easier for all of us. For those who did the assignment correctly, GRACIAS.

Apr 1 I have some hints for helping students with the Green Sheet Assignment.

Many students are jumping into the Green Sheet Assignment without paying attention to the instructions. The biggest problem I see is that some students are writing sentences in English and then translating them into Spanish using Google translate. It is pretty easy for me to spot that.

The next problem is that some are just writing sentences that they do know how to say, but are not focusing on using the sentence pattern and vocabulary that is on the Green Sheet. It would be helpful if students would watch the instruction video on Canvas all the way through, including the examples I gave.

The reason I care that the instructions are followed is that the Green Sheet helps students learn some of the most important, basic communication skills that can help someone survive in a Spanish-only environment. If they were suddenly transported into the middle of Guatemala, Spain or Argentina, these are some of the communication skills which would be most important to know.

April 3
After going back and looking at my instructions on the 20 sentence assignment, here is what I wish I had made more clear. I hope this helps you to understand this assignment.

First, choose a “conjugated” verb from Group 1 on the Green Sheet. Use a variety of different verbs and don’t just get stuck on the “yo” form of each verb either.

Second, choose an “infinitive, or ‘to’ verb” from Group 2 on the Green Sheet.

Third, choose an ending from Group 3 on the Green Sheet. (Group 3 is not always required). Example: “Juan quiere comer.” is a full sentence. “Juan quiere comer pizza con María esta noche.” is also a full sentence, but it shows a higher skill level.

Fourth, you have just made a sentence using the Green Sheet pattern.

Fifth, do this 19 more times. You can also make questions or compound sentences by using words in the Links column. You can look up new verbs if you like, but stick to the pattern on the Green Sheet.

Duolingo

March 23 Students, some of you still have work to do from last week. If your first attempt at an online assignment was not the best, you have two more attempts. Use them. I will keep the highest score. If you have not been doing the work, go to Google Classroom or Canvas while logged into your school account and get busy!

You have 3 nuggets to do on senorwooly.com. Some of you may not have paid attention to the instructions enough to have noticed. Get busy. The late penalty will only be 10 percent if you hurry.

If you are confused about what to do, copy the part of the instructions from Google Classroom or Canvas that confuse you, email me about what you need help with and I will do my best to help you. The school website also gives instructions about doing your work online.

Here is a copy of a message I posted to students on Google Classroom:
I will probably be posting at least some videos and assignments on Canvas. There are features on Canvas which are not on Google Classroom. I am new to Canvas, so be patient with me.

Mr. Taylor is another 8th grade math teacher across the hall from my classroom. He shares his story of how he finished the LA Marathon with a torn calf muscle simply because it had been his goal to finish and he wasn’t going to let anything stop him. He is sharing this with you for inspiration to keep going until the end of 8th grade even in difficult circumstances. Here’s is the link to his video.

I’ll be sending several emails in the next few days about the end of the year. All the end of the year information is on the class website. Please check that out for schedule, the grading policy, the final test (it’s a end of the year survey – not an actual math test). Right now, I want to make you aware of the extra credit options. These are all on the website as well. Finishing the extra credit challenges will earn you 5 points on your test. The test is 75% of your grade, so this will help you quite a lot.

The first extra credit challenge is from Mr. Taylor. Mrs. Trewantha’s extra credit challenge will be posted next week, and my extra credit challenge will be posted the week after that.

Mr. Taylor’s is to run a mile. Running a mile, no matter how fast you do it, earns you extra credit. Just be sure you fill out the ”1 Mile Challenge Survey” on the website so I know you did it. The top 3 students that beat Mr. Taylor’s time of 6:36 (yep, he’s fast) will win Subway gift cards. Make sure you check out the website for details.

Again, there will be more challenges posted next week and then the next week after that. You will earn 5 points of extra credit on your test for each challenge once you complete them.

Please check out the website for more end of the year information. I’ll be sending out emails with this information soon.

Here’s the link to the website for 1st, 2nd,3rd, 4th, and 5th period:

Following each lesson, you will be asked to fill out a Google Check-In Survey. I will be grading this every 48 hours and giving you a grade in Skyward. This is how I will be checking to see that you are doing your assignments at home. Please check Skyward for missing assignments and updated grades.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Stay safe.

Health, Mrs. Sirstins
Just a quick note to let you know that my Canvas courses are up and running.  You will see the tile for our class when you log into Canvas.  I have also put a link to Canvas on my PGJH website.  Please take a quick minute to read the following expectations.
1.  When you get signed into Canvas, you will see a “To Do” list on the right hand side of your screen.  Please know that assignments immediately add to this list when I publish them on Canvas.  The list can look long and overwhelming.  That is the LAST way I want you to feel.  Take a deep breath and only do one assignment at a time.  There is plenty of time to do the work.
2.  My intention is that you will spend no more than 30 minutes per lesson.  If you want to set a timer, please do.  Give an honest effort for 30 minutes but if you are not finished, STOP and submit anything you have finished within that time.
3.  Online school should be enjoyable, not stressful!  Please email me with any questions and concerns.  I am here to help you!
4.  Most importantly, keep yourself healthy and safe and HAPPY!  Get outside and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air!
Take Care!
Mrs. Sirstins

English, Mrs. Vest

My plan is to continue to utilize Google Classroom and will post assignments and announcements there weekly. My main goal is for you to continue reading and writing, as that is essential for you to maintain skills necessary for your continuing education.

During regular school, my class generally spends time reading every day. I would like for this to continue if possible. I have linked instructions for signing up for SORA (our district online library) on Google Classroom if you are in need of a reading book. To ensure students spend time reading, there will be a book report due at the end of the term. Students must choose a book (IT MUST BE A NOVEL) that you need to have finished by May 15th. This date is posted on the newsletter and I will continue to remind you and parents/guardians of this date. Each week you will complete a reading quiz (via Google Classroom) that will be a way for me to keep track of your progress in your personal choice novels. I want this to be an opportunity for you to read a book that they are interested in and enjoy. The book report will be an opportunity for you to share what you have read and learn about what your peers have been reading. We have worked hard to build a culture of reading in our school and I would love to help maintain that culture for you while we are not physically meeting at the school. The first reading quiz will be posted tomorrow (Mar 18) and I will expect you to choose a novel by Friday March 20th. Our school media center will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-11am if you need to check out a book.

Again, each week there will be 2 reading quizzes that must be completed by Friday at midnight, one writing assignment, and one additional assignment (typically an article or something similar).

Please check Google Classroom each day to make sure you are staying on top of your work and don’t hesitate to send me an email if you have any questions or concerns.

Know that through this challenge, I am thinking of you and your families and will do whatever I can to help you remain successful. We row together!

Mrs. Vest

Rachel letter

Back to beginning of Rachel | Back to beginning of page

What format are we using for online learning?: Students will be receiving daily instructions from us via Google Classroom regarding what we are working on each day, including assignment links and directions. Students can access Google Classroom through their school Google account by signing into Google with their school email address. Their password is the same password they use to log onto the classroom chrome books. All 4th graders have had the experience of working in Google Classroom this year, so they should be fairly familiar with it. *If for some reason your student has forgotten their email address, you can access it from Skyward.

For the best results, use Google Chrome or Firefox as your web browser. From Google’s home page, they click on the “little waffle” in the right hand corner of the screen to access the entire suite of Google apps. They will click on Google Classroom (it is a little green chalkboard) and it will take them straight to the Google Classroom home page. For easier access in the future, students can bookmark the Google Classroom page so they don’t have to go through all of this every time. On the Google Classroom home page, it will show our class. Click on our class. We will go over how to access the materials inside Google Classroom later in this message.

Here’s what you’ll find inside Google Classroom:

In Google Classroom, students will want to go to the “classwork” tab at the top of the page. This is where we have each subject listed and there will be links and assignments under each subject section. In the Links & Resources section, you’ll find links to the websites we’ll be using over the next couple of weeks. If you notice a link for something is missing or broken, please let us know and we’ll add it.

For language arts, students will first go to Google Classroom and find out what they need to do for the day, then they will click the Wonders link on Google Classroom which will open another tab where they can log into Wonders online to complete those things. This will be new to them as we have not used the online version in class before. It will be a learning curve for everyone at first, but we have full confidence that the kids will figure it out and adapt quickly. We will attach a Wonders login instruction page and a video tutorial done by Mrs. Moore that you and your student can watch together to help familiarize them with the format.

For math, students will log in to Go Math online. This will give them digital access to their big textbook which contains instructions and examples for each lesson (this is the book that will be helpful for parents to look at if your child needs help). It also contains access to their small math book which is the book they use to practice the skills they learn. The work they do and turn in for a grade will come from the small book. We will provide more instructions tomorrow on how they will do these assignments and turn them in. We are trying to utilize ways for students to complete their math pages without having to print the page out as we know some families do not have access to a printer. Most likely, we will have students fill in their answers for the math sheets on a Google Form. More details to come on that tomorrow. As for students logging in to Go Math and using the site, here are some screen shots of what the screen will look like. When students log on, they will get to a screen like this.

CLICK ON MY LIBRARY.

This is the page where you’ll see their math books. The top left one is the on-level work book. The top right one is the below-level work book. The bottom left one is the above-level work book. The bottom right one is the big text book. Just ignore the pink book and the yellow star in the middle. Those don’t apply to us. You have to have adobe flash player installed on your computer for these to work. Most computers have flash already. If it won’t work for some reason, email us and let me know. We recommend playing around with the digital math textbooks. The software Go Math uses is a little archaic so it might be a little finnicky. It DOES work, you just have to mess around with it. If you have any questions about how the math books work, send us a message. For

science, we plan on using a mixture of resources for instruction. We have completed all of our science units and were scheduled to be entering what would have been review time before state testing. We will be placing some activities, notes, and resources online for them to look at along with a schedule of what to review and when, and we will also be adding science videos such as Bill Nye.

For social studies, we will be in contact later in the week regarding what projects they will be working on.

What else do we need to do?: In addition to the links and assignments posted on Google Classroom each day, we will be requiring 20 minutes of Reflex Math each day. Students will go to www.reflexmath.com. Choose “student login”. It will ask them to type in their teacher’s name. They will type my first and last name in all lower case letters, no space. Then they will select their name, then they will type in their 4 digit password. We will be emailing each of you your student’s Reflex password. There will be an assignment on Google Classroom where students have to turn in a signature from parents that they have completed 100 minutes of Reflex during the week. For students who have completed and passed of Reflex, they may go on to Prodigy instead. Link can be found on Google Classroom.

We would also like our students to log in to Lexia for 20 minutes 3 times per week. The Lexia website is www.lexiacore5.com Their username and password are BOTH their student number. (They sometimes call this their Lexia number, and it should begin with a 9.) We will have a similar turn in system with a parent signature required on Google Classroom for Lexia minutes. *We do have a few students who have completely finished and passed off Lexia. It will show upon login if your student is finished with the program. If your student is one of these children, please have them go onto Prodigy instead.

Students are also required to complete 20 minutes of personal reading each day. *Students may count reading assignments done on Wonders as their 20 minutes if they would like. However, they are always welcome and encouraged to read more. Unfortunately, with our school and city libraries closed to the public it puts some limits on their reading. To combat this, we will attach login information for SORA which is a free account they can use to access ebooks. To log in to SORA, they will use their student number (aka Lexia number) as their username, and their last name as their password. SORA is available as an app and can be downloaded on an iPad or similar device. SORA is not required, just a great resource for free-time reading!

Where should we start tomorrow (March 18th)?:

We are still working like crazy ladies to get links put in and content loaded for everything. Please be patient with us while we get this up and running over the next several hours. If you notice that content is missing at first, check back on Google Classroom within a few hours because chances are that it will appear later after we’ve finished adding everything. Of course, school hours are meant to be flexible during this time and we understand that many families have multiple students who will need to share a computer for learning. We do not expect things to be turned in at certain times of the day, but we will expect things to be done sometime within the day that it was assigned. We are relying on parents to provide us with daily feedback that learning expectations are being met. We will be sending out a daily check off list where students will mark off that they’ve done the day’s tasks, and they’ll get a parent signature at the bottom. The guildlines from the district are that 4th graders should be spending 2-4 hours on school work per day. We have been advised to focus more heavily on the core areas such as Language Arts, Math, and Science. Howevr, we will provide resources for activities and projects that students can do on the side if they choose. As a 4th grade team, we are shooting for somewhere in the middle, so approximately 2-3 hours per day. We will do our best to not overload the kids (or you parents!) with too much work. We understand that family time, outdoor time, and exercise are all equally important. Please feel free to email me if you feel your child needs more or less work to do. As always, we strive to always be understanding of the fact that sometimes we have hectic days and can’t get to everything we planned, and specifically with a virus going around, there is always a chance that your family and student could end up sick. If this happens, please just communicate with us so I know what’s going on and we can work together to reschedule due dates for assignments. We’re all doing our best
