Remember to vote!
This Saturday, John McCain, Sarah Palin, Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty were dealt a stunning defeat. I’m still barely able to talk about this emotional event, but I have to tell someone.
Despite “teh best costume evar” and our best campaigning efforts, we didn’t even place in the costume contest at our friend’s Halloween party (the only Halloween event we were able to participate in this year, unless visiting the doctor counts).
So, since I’m desperately in need of validation, feel free to tell me how good our costumes are:

And me:

We didn’t even get to give a concession speech (it was another one of those “oh, I thought you were going to do it!” moments).
On the plus side, several people came up to us to tell us how awesome we were much they liked our costumes, including the host’s mom
.
As we were leaving, the hostess told us, “Oh, I knew I should have voted! I would have totally voted for you guys!”
“Well,” I said, “Just don’t make that mistake on Tuesday!”

Seriously … if it WOULD have been up to Jeff and I this year … it WOULD have gone to you guys! Hands down! And I’m not just saying that! Yours was probably my favorite costume! Very clever! And my mother-in-law LOVED it! She was talking about it over dinner last night!
So hopefully that will validate you at least little bit – ha ha!
And we definitely won’t make the mistake of not voting TOMORROW!
November 3rd, 2008 at 9:48 pmThank you, Cristi! Darn that democracy—or should I say democrazy?!
November 3rd, 2008 at 9:52 pmOh, and PS, thanks for being such an awesome hostess, too, of course!
November 3rd, 2008 at 9:53 pmdemocrazy – ha ha!
I’m so glad you guys come every year. I always feel so bad that I don’t get to talk to you very much. That’s the only thing I don’t like about playing the part of “hostess!”
November 3rd, 2008 at 10:28 pmFabulous costumes, Jordan!!! Way to pull out patriotism during election week. Hooray for tomorrow and the election!
November 3rd, 2008 at 11:06 pmAWESOME! Eric really wanted us to go as John McCain and Sarah Palin this year… I had to remind him that she is not 38 weeks pregnant and no one would have gotten our costumes! I think he was sorely disappointed. He kept mentioning how he hoped lots of couples went as McCain and Palin… and I think he will definitely be impressed with the excellent quality of your family’s costumes! Ya’ll pulled it off so well!
how did you make Kilt’s hair white?
