S is for sigh!

It’s that feeling when the kids are settled at naps or bedtime—that release when you know you have some time to yourself (even if you’ll probably fritter it all away).

The first thing I do is think about what I want to get done. The second thing is to get on the computer and promptly not do it. (Note to self: time to reread your post on getting off the computer!)

When do you sigh—and what’s the first thing you do?

I sigh when all the kids are in bed. I usually use it to do whatever I want on the computer, read a book, or watch shows with my hubby. I rarely even try to get actual stuff accomplished after the kids go to bed. That’s me time! 🙂

I sigh when I shut the door to the boys’ room at bedtime after a long day and they haven’t tried to ask me 50 questions as I leave the room so I know they’re going to stay in bed that night. Then I slowly walk downstairs, glance at the sink and think, “I need to wash those…” Then walk past the kitchen and see that basket of laundry by the basement door and think, “Oooo, movie night! I’ll fold while we watch a movie!” So I say to Bret, “What should we watch? Your turn to pick.” But he never picks. So I choose one, move the laundry basket beside me on the couch…and fold maybe three things before I give up and just crash to watch the show.
