The coloring book for me

Hayden has begun to enjoy “coloring” (I think the part he really likes is dumping the colored pencils out of the box). And I discovered another benefit to having Hayden visit the gym day care last week. As I was picking him up after my workout, I noticed the gallery of coloring book pictures outside the day care. A few in particular caught my eye:

Why, that’s Jack McCoy!

And Lennie and Rey!

I have got to get me one of these—a Law & Order Coloring Book. (I have to say that the episode immortalized in this coloring book is, in my opinion, one of the most complex episodes in a series that’s known for its twists and turns.)

I’ve probably mentioned this before, but one of my many addictions is Law & Order. I’m intensely saddened that the new season is delayed until January. I’m also sad that Jack will be the DA (unless he still argues in court; then I won’t be so sad).

And now I can enjoy coloring just as much as Hayden does!

Ok-I have sent that to all my L&O fan friends!!! That is way too funny!!! Too bad it doesn’t come with the sound effects!

Imagine the conversation/inquisition that would accompany the coloring:
Child: “Who dat?”
Parent: “Jack McCoy”
Child: “Who he?”
Parent: “A lawyer on tv”
Child: “What dat?”
Parent: “Umm, well, a lawyer convinces a judge to put bad people in time out”
Child: “Why?”
Parent: Hey, where is that coloring book with the cute animals in it?”

Or is that only my house that hosts such conversations?

@MomOnTheGo—I’m sure it’s not only at your house. . . . But I’m also pretty sure Hayden won’t have any question who Jack McCoy is. Or, as we call him in our house, “Uncle Jack.”

(Saddest of all, we really do call him Uncle Jack.)
