I wanted Hayden to be the first member of the family to meet Rebecca. He got to the hospital about four hours after she was born, and Ryan brought him into the hospital room.
“Hi Mama,” he said. “Seeping?”
“Yes,” I said.
Then he saw the baby in the bassinet. His mouth shrank into a tiny o. “Baby!”
“Do you remember the baby in Mama’s tummy?” Ryan asked.
Hayden nodded. “Out.”
The first time Hayden held Rebecca, she started to fuss. “Ssss,” Hayden whispered. “It okay.”
He says her name “uhbecca.” I wonder how she feels about that.

Oh my gosh. So sweet. Hayden is the most adorable little boy ever! And he looks really fascinated with the idea of having a new little sister. I’m sure he’ll be saying “Rebecca” in no time!

Aw! She’s so cute. I loved watching my boys meet their new baby sister. It was one of the sweetest moments as they gazed at her in wonder.
That’s so sweet! What a fun meeting:) I’m jealous. Complications after my boys were born threw special first meeting plans for Jeffrey out the window. Luckily, he loves them anyway:) Those are some very cute pictures (I love the bow on her head) and I’m sure even better memories.
P.S. Thanks for the Jaren recommendation. He was the photographer on duty at my graduation, too. I’ll see if I can find a website…
