The best thing you got for Christmas

Whew! It’s been a bit crazy around here with holiday travel, Christmas (and last minute shopping) and my sister’s wedding.

When last we met, I asked you what you really want for Christmas. I was surprised (and quite excited!) that you responded! I guess I shouldn’t have been; I know that sometimes nobody asks moms what they want for Christmas.

It’s tough to choose, of course, but the best gift we got might be Hayden’s vacuum cleaner. Hours of fun for him (and at least a little bit of a break for me)! Too bad it doesn’t actually clean the floors; then my life might actually be perfect 😉 . (Is it strange for an almost-two-year-old boy to be quite obsessed with vacuum cleaners?)

So today is a bit of a follow-up question: What was the best thing that you got for Christmas?

The best thing I got is a 4 slot toaster with a special bagel setting. Yes, I’m weird that I like practical gifts, but having this toaster will make the morning rush a LOT easier.

I got the comfiest pair of pants. There’s nothing better than a cozy pair of pants!

And no…my son is still obsessed with our vacuum at almost 3. A dear friend of mine filled me in on a possible reason: Teletubbies and the “Noo noo.” But ours gets full greetings & salutations in the morning and before bed. Daily.

He’s got it bad for our vac.

Have a great ’08.

The best thing I got was a plastic serving tray from my son with his first and last name handwritten, along with the year.(It is the first time I have seen him spell his last name by himself.)

This year I did not get what I wanted when I responded to your list, but I am an optimist and it will still be on my list for Christmas 08. (New York Times Bestseller and Oprah) 🙂

It is not odd at all for a 2 year old boy to be obsessed with a vacuum. My son was too. It was kind of funny because I do this thing with the vacuum where I stay in one spot, push forward and one of my legs goes up in the air a little. One of those things you never realize you do. Until your child does it and suddenly you find yourself in a moment like, Oh my goodness, He got that from me?!. LOL

Hope your new year was great. Warmest Regards,
Kakie

Okay, I wish I had a swarmy answer, but my husband is not very good at taking the girls to buy me meaningful gifts. HE on the other hand is very good at buying me gifts and I got a new lens for my camera for portraiture and a Coach handbag that I have been coveting. Happy Mommy!

The BEST part of Christmas this year was staying home and not traveling. I love visiting family, but it was the most relaxing holiday EVER>
